SMILE KaiMai Program (SMILE Program) is a clinically researched mind-body exercise program, one of the very few mind-body exercise therapies that has demonstrated improvements in a range of health indicators, including anxiety, depression, stress, sleep quality, body weight, blood glucose, muscle strength, physical function, and quality of life. It is regarded as an innovative approach to chronic disease prevention and health management. The program integrates elements of Tai Chi, Qigong, dance, resistance training, and other movement practices. It draws on both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western medical theories while incorporating findings from contemporary exercise and health research.
Professor Liu was awarded his PhD at The University of Queensland Australia (UQ). He is a Professor / Senior Research Scientist at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and The University of Queensland and the President of the International Institute for Mind-Body Health.
SMILE KaiMai courses have received positive feedback from participants in multiple countries. The program has also been offered as a university-wide elective at the prestigious Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, where it has been highly rated by students.
